About
Achille Marciano is an Italian actor, director and writer working across film, television and theatre. His short film 99.9% — which he wrote, directed and starred in — was selected by national and international festivals and won awards for best film, best debut and best actor.
Born in Pisa in 1985, Achille Aleandro Marciano discovered acting at twenty-four and decided to turn that passion into his profession. After training in theatre with the Vertigo association in Livorno, he deepened his craft through theatrical improvisation, the Meisner technique and the permanent ESTAD workshop led by Daniele Monterosi, moving to Rome in 2015 to devote himself entirely to his artistic career.
His first film roles came in 2017 with the independent productions Oh mio Dio by Giorgio Amato, La Banda Grossi by Claudio Ripalti and Thanks for Vaselina by Gabriele Di Luca. Since then he has moved between film, television and theatre, working with directors such as Kim Rossi Stuart, Vittorio Taviani, Andrea Molaioli, Roan Johnson, Fausto Brizzi, Giorgio Amato, Gabriele Di Luca, Riccardo Mosca and Monica Vullo.
His most significant work includes the series Made in Italy, in which he plays Gianni Versace, Circeo, Gloria, Tutto quello che ho, Blanca 3 and I delitti del BarLume, along with the films Brado, Leonora Addio and Eravamo Bambini.
Alongside his work as an actor he has developed his own voice as a writer and director. In 2019 he wrote, directed and starred in the short film 99.9%, a black comedy about food waste, selected by numerous Italian and international festivals and recognised with more than ten awards, including best film, best debut, audience award and best actor.
In 2023 he founded the production company Glimo Films together with Mattia Bricalli, developing independent film projects as an actor, writer and producer.
Writing is today a fundamental part of his artistic path. With the writer Simone Giusti he develops stories and screenplays for film and television, sharing a search for genre cinema able to bring entertainment and reflection together.
Today he divides his time between acting and the development of film projects as a writer, director and producer. His research focuses on a contemporary cinematic language, where genre becomes a tool to tell the story of human beings and their contradictions.
“The best stories are the ones that keep you company long after the credits roll.”
